April was the end of our first term learning project – CONNECTIONS – which saw the Toddlers out and about in the West End Community on an excursion to our favourite local park (and home to Kurilpa’s end of year party), Lyon’s Park.
It was a great time to see our Toddler’s listening skills in action as we discussed safety on our walk along roads and past vehicles on the way to the park. We observed our Toddlers putting their climbing skills to the test on the park’s climbing fort. We discussed gardening with the Community Gardeners on hand and ate a variety of Community grown vegetables, even bringing back to Kurilpa a bunch of Aloe Vera to grow of our own!
This is the first of many forays into the wider Community our Toddlers will be making this year.
