For 80 years Kurilpa has been a place where memories are made.
Created by the local community in 1944, Kurilpa was established during one of the most challenging eras Australian families would face as troops left our shores and mothers went to work. In those early days the centre relied on donated equipment and volunteered time.
Today Kurilpa is a well-respected and highly sought-after centre, proudly providing the highest quality care for families in and around West End. Kurilpa remains a not-for-profit parent-run centre. Families, staff and community come first and any profits are reinvested in the children.
To celebrate this incredible milestone we are having a birthday party! On Sunday 8th September 2024 we will be opening our doors to the residents of West End and beyond.
It will be a chance to mark the community’s extraordinary achievement, reflect on the thousands of little lives we’ve helped shape and showcase the wonderfully supportive and enriching environment we provide the current generation.
To help us mark the occasion we want to find the oldest Kurilpa kid! If you or someone you know attended the center, please share your name, age and when you attended.
