We recognise the partnerships between families, team, communities and the earth, and the contribution we all make to children’s lives. We build strong networks by embracing diversity and aim to be accessible to all. Kurilpa’s Philosophy
Kurilpa understands the importance of community and culture in children’s development. We actively engage with the community and network to form strong bonds with services and people in the community.
Our immediate community includes our valued partnerships with parents and families. It is our priority to ensure these relationships remain open and communicative at all times. More broadly, we promote and foster a relationship with the local communities in the West End and surrounding suburbs. We engage our local community through networking, social events and other activities that help connect children to their wider environment.
The children look forward to regular visits from local community support services, such as the Queensland Police Service and Queensland Fire & Rescue. The centre also engages in the local community through regular visits to local places, such as the Paradise St Community Gardens, Qld Museum, local playgrounds and travel to these places using council buses or ferries. The centre actively engages with many local businesses for many services, such as Avid Reader bookstore, sourcing fruit & vegetables from a local West End suppliers.
