Paradise Park is one of our favourite excursion destinations and we were talking about using the orno there to make a pizza lunch to share. One of our beautiful families asked if, instead, we’d like to build an orno right here in the carpark.
And so we did.
It was definitely a community project, with centre families and their extended families getting involved to get the job done. (Big thanks to the McCallum and Lafaialii families especially for sharing their time and expertise.) We’ve tested the orno out and look forward to lots of bread and pizzas making their way into the programme on a regular basis.
The Kindergarten and Junior Kindy teams have been using up the centre’s waste paper to make bricks, for building cubbies in the garden. The ones that crack or aren’t a good shape will go into the firewood box to fire up the orno. Sustainability at its tastiest!
