One of the major parts of our learning environments for the Toddlers is our garden. We’ve successfully grown a few sorts of vegetables this year, including our bumper crop of cabbages we have just started to pick from the seeds that were sown in March! Taking care of our garden has also meant our Toddlers explore what sustainability means – feeding our worm farm to use the worm tea, reusing fallen leaves as mulch and more. We were lucky enough to have Jess from Mallow Sustainability visit, sharing her knowledge on composting and giving us big buckets to start collecting our food scraps that will turn into new food at Jess’s farm! This food is then sold on to our local community and cafe’s meaning we’re becoming an even bigger part of our West End and Brisbane community.
